Governor General helps launch volunteerism campaign

A new campaign to encourage volunteerism, especially by younger people, has been kicked off by Governor General David Johnston.
The campaign consists of print, TV and radio ads as well as a website mygivingmoment.ca
Recent statistics show that while volunteerism is growing in Canada, most volunteers are older, and more than 50% of volunteer hours come from just 10% of volunteers.
Various companies have partnered with My Giving Moment, among them Canada’s five largest banks, Tim Hortons, Shaw and Rogers Communications, Telus, and Home Hardware.
